Short course: Introduction to Clinical Trials

This short course, Introduction to Clinical Trials, will consist of formal lectures, small group discussions and workshops. The course aims to develop fundamental knowledge in clinical trial study design and co-ordination. It will specifically provide instruction in developing a clinical research question and creating a concise protocol that includes literature review, study design, subject sampling and recruitment, instruments and other measurement approaches, sample size, consent form, budget and timetable. Suitable for: Medical doctors, biomedical scientists, nurses, physiotherapists, clinicians, epidemiologists, psychologists, pharmacists, biochemists and public health researchers who are interested in understanding and applying the principles of Clinical Trial Study Design and Co-ordination.
