Participants sought: Cognitive Enhancement in Depression using Non-invasive Brain Stimulation

The Monash Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre (MAPrc) is conducting this study to investigate the effectiveness of non-invasive electrical brain stimulation methods to increase cognitive ability in individuals with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). The study also aims to better understand the relationship between depression, stimulation, cognitive enhancement, and brain activity.

To be eligible all participants must:

• Have been diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder and currently be experiencing a depressive episode,
• Be right-handed,
• Be between 18-65 years of age,
• Have no history of neurological illness, including stroke, epilepsy, etc.

All participants will receive stimulation from a non-invasive electrical device whilst they complete a series of cognitive tasks. Participants will be required to attend one 3.5-hour testing session and will be reimbursed $50 for their time. Participation is completely confidential.
