More than 800,000 temporary migrants are working in Australia, yet the
assumption that everyone living here is a permanent resident or a
citizen has created dangerous blind spots with respect to free administration of vaccines. 457 temporary visa holders are excluded under Commonwealth policies, but the Victorian state government is nonetheless doing an important public health service by providing free vaccination for all children under the age of 10, regardless of their status.
